ABOUT US
History
The Well was established in 2012 as a natural outgrowth of the Episcopal Campus Ministry and the Lutheran Student Ministry programs.
We realized how much we had in common, so we decided to find our way together!
In the fall of 2024, we moved our location to the Jesse Peel Center, the LGBTQ+ Center inside ECU's Student Center. We saw that it was hard for some students to get to our meetings at local churches, so we decided to meet the students where they were already gathering.
Our Values

1
We are committed to making The Well a place where college students can be themselves, fully. We believe that the diversity of humanity - of race, nationality, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, ability, and age - are all illustrative of the image of God (imago Dei) each one of us is made in.
2
We acknowledge that religious affiliation and Christian identity and belief are complicated in 21st century America amidst increasing political and social polarization. We hold space believers, skeptics, and unbelievers alike and are a non-judgmental space for the exploration of faith.
3
We are steeped in the Anglican and Lutheran traditions that have informed our shared experience of faith. But that doesn't meant you have to be Lutheran or Episcopalian to hang out with us!
